Learn More About London Storage Units – Part Two

The Packing Plan
The first step to making the most of your London storage units is to have a plan. The worst thing you can do with a great storing area is to simply dump things inside in a haphazard manner. This not only takes up lots of extra space, but you could also end up damaging your belongings. Once you have a clear idea of exactly what you will be putting into store, sort out the items you will want to access on a regular basis. These should be placed near the front of the unit. If you plan on storing any valuable items, it might be best to keep them near the back in an unmarked box. Next, take a look at the weight of the items. When you pack them in boxes, make sure you put the heavier things on the bottom and lighter things on top.
When placing items in your London storage units , keep a clear inventory of what is in each box and where each box is kept. Label these boxes with abbreviated terms or a code. In case of a break in, a box labeled electronics or antiques will certainly be hauled away first. Make sure you buy new boxes for storing as used boxes will be weaker and may contain insect or food debris. Many national real estate and storing facilities offer all kinds of packing material right on the site. Purchase all your packing materials well in advance, keeping in mind any special packing needs. For instance, mirrors and glass will require different kinds of boxes. Avoid keeping anything in plastic bags. These can often seal in moisture, causing mold or mildew to grow on whatever is stored inside.
