Growing up with seven siblings and not very much money Kendra learned to sew her own clothes at an early age. Her grandmother taught her how to do all the stitches by hand and for her thirteenth birthday her parents saved up to buy her her first sewing machine. She went crazy making everyone clothes, and she got so many complements from people wondering where she had bought her clothes from. She made all four of her sisters prom dresses, and her second oldest sister was even prom queen that year and everyone raved about her dress.
Of course Kendra went to school for graphic design with a business minor as well. Her dream was to open her own clothing store one day, or have her own line of clothes in production. After she graduated from college she began to work for one of the fashion designers that had a headquarters near Quebec. Living in a two bedroom apartment she kept one room for her bed room and the other room was her sewing room. It was not that big, but when you spend the majority of your monthly income on fabrics and accessories for your collection she was happy with the space that she had.
She had made so many clothes that Kendra decided to rent a Quebec storage unit to act as her warehouse. She kept some of the fabrics and accessories that she had in the making there as well as racks of clothes that she had completed. Before a garment was moved into the Quebec storage unit she would take a picture of it to add to her portfolio. The garment bag that it was kept in was tagged with a number and the number was written on the back of the photo. All of the garments hanging in the Quebec storage unit were kept in numerical order so that it was all organized incase anyone wanted to buy one of her garments or just see one in particular.
Kendras big break came two years after she began to work for another designer. It was sort of a friend of a friend who knew someone who knew someone who was friends with a famous person who was looking for a one of a kind dress to wear to a fashion event. They got through the grapevine Kendras name and called to ask about a dress being made. Kendra met with the celebrity and brought her portfolio as well as a few dresses that she had pulled out of the Quebec storage . In the end Kendra made her first big sale and one of her dresses was worn to a major event. After that she had several new clients, and even a few of them big names.
