Moving In All WeatherBy joel on October 3, 2011 | No Comments
A self storage property manager has pretty much heard it all when it comes to self storage. It would seem as though they are storage experts, storage counselors, and your storage friends. It is completely a great idea to go to them when you need help with storage. They will give you great tips on what to do on your day to move. Of course people will call them and tell them a whopper of a story thinking they are the only one to have gone through that. One word of wisdom that property managers try to give to their soon to be renters, is that they prepare for moving in all kinds of weather conditions. Even though we try to plan, it still does not always go the way we plan. When moving, make sure you get good rest the night before so that the stress level does not get to high. Do not over stuff yourself the night before or the morning of your move so you are not feeling sluggish when you are moving. If you are having a moving company do the moving for you, then you can eat all you want. It is still a good idea to get some good sleep before moving day. You will have to some direction to give to the movers. When moving in hot weather ensure you and all your helpers drink enough liquids so you don’t over heat. You do not want anyone going to the emergency room or worse on the day you are supposed to move. That is one thing that you can plan for by having beverages available. If your movers or helpers do not want anything from you, make sure they have something of their own to drink. Some people will say that there will not be a lot of moving so they do not need anything to drink. On hot days, you will sweat more than you think and will need to replace that water loss with liquid. If you have to move in the winter weather, have salt and sand handy so you don’t have any accidents. Make sure your driveway or moving area is clear, and then call ahead to your local property manager to see if their property is clear. If the property manager tells you that it is clear, then start moving as soon as possible. Wear plenty of layers so don’t have to stop moving to get warm.A self storage property manager has pretty much heard it all when it comes to self storage. Use a Storage Unit to Help Change with the SeasonsBy jeff on February 7, 2011 | No Comments

London Road storage units are in Alberta, Canada where it snows a lot. Now this may be an obvious thing to say, but when we think of Canada, we think of snow. They say no two snow flakes are the same and as a child we tried to prove it. We looked at countless snow flakes with magnifying glasses, trying to find two that were alike. Why is that so important anyway that no two snow flakes are alike? Are there not a lot of things that are exactly the same but are not identical? How about ants or any other kinds of insects? Are they exactly the same? We can not remember the very first snow fall we ever had as kids but we can remember the blizzards.
Growing up in Chicago, Illinois, we got snow and ice and cold and all of that. We had a lot of wind too that would blow you a few steps backwards. It was a strange thing to feel if you know what we mean. We are sure in Canada a few people have been blown backwards too. We were talking about snow and not wind though. At times, they do go together and snow and wind can get to be pretty tough at times and we know all about that in the Unites States of America too. The south has not those problems though, except if you like cold and snow and wind, many people in the south do not. We like four seasons because it is good for you some researchers and science people tell us. It is good for your emotions as the seasons may match your own journey through life. There is spring, the birth of many things like flowers and plants. Summer comes and fun comes with it. The new life is grown now and feeling itself.
London Road storage units in Alberta, Canada have four seasons too. Winter is supposed to be the match with your older age. Leaves fall and trees are bare and the cold gloomy days are upon us. Fall brings that winter to us as a reminder to all of us. Most kids in this world though, do not live long enough to see the four seasons of their own lives. We watch the news but sometimes we do not like it at all. Canada and the United States of America share more than borders, but a bond between people. We are a lot alike.
London Road storage units in Alberta, Canada do not deal with politics too much I hope. We believe in free choice in business and business produces great results in all of society and does help all of humanity. Debates in the Unites States of America about this topic go on and on. Big government verses small government. What is your opinion? We guess most countries that can have these types of discussions talk about this thing. We shall always have corruption and ill will in any government, but it can work and we believe Canada thinks like this too. Snow is what we started with, and snow is something that is pretty cool we think. So get out there and go get you some snow, as we would say in America. Good Luck.

Self Storage Is Music To My EarsBy admin on June 28, 2010 | No Comments

There was a time in my life when I just could not play enough music. I am a drummer, myself. I would wake up wanting to play, and I would go to sleep disappointed if I did not. Of course, one of the major problems that I was having was that I could never seem to find a good place to practice. If my band and I practiced at home, then the cops were sure to come. If we used our school practice rooms, we would always have to quit when the students came by. At a point, I was really beginning to lose hope. Then, I came across the perfect solution to my problem.
Do you know what I did, reader? Go ahead, guess.
Give up?
Well, I rented a self storage unit for my band. And really, I have to say that I have never been happier. With our self storage unit, all of our problems become a thing of the past. I mean, really. No longer did we have to worry about getting kicked out of our space, because it was ours. We paid the rent on that puppy, and that meant that we got to use it whenever we liked. It was also super safe, which was great, too. We did not even have to worry about leaving our instruments in the thing overnight. We would return the next day and nothing had been touched, not even moved by an inch. That, and it was nice and dry. Really, you could not ask for more.
Of course, there were a few things that I had to take care of before I moved my band into the self storage unit. For starters, I had to call ahead of time and make sure that we were allowed to practice in our unit. As it turns out, you have to rent from a self storage facility that is not in a residential district, or the zoning laws and noise ordinances are going to prevent you from moving your band in. Luckily, it did not take much time for me to call around and figure out which facilities were going to work for our needs.
I also had to be sure that the facilities were willing to make a few accommodations for our band. I mean, the last thing that I wanted, here, was to rent a unit that, say, did not come with any power outlets or something like that. This basically meant that I had to head out to the sites before I agreed to rent anything, as I would have hated to let my band members down by renting a sub par unit.
Basically, what I am trying to say is that you are going to enjoy a self storage unit if you are looking for a great place to practice your music. Unless you own a home of your own, then you are not going to be able to find a better option when it comes to practicing. Even then, you still might have the cops called on you if you are not careful. At any rate, pick up that phone and give your local self storage facilities a call if you are serious about finding a place to practice. I did, and I would gladly do it again.

Don’t Hesitate To Rent Laval Storage UnitsBy admin on May 26, 2010 | No Comments
Many times we try to do something on our own and we do not always end up with the best result. Different situation arise in which we spend more money or time because we refused to ask a simple question. We could drive around in circles convinced that we will eventually find the place that we are looking for. If we had just stopped to call the place we are trying to get to, they could simply tell us that we need to drive one more block and we would have been there fifteen minutes ago.
Sometimes it seems like we rather spend so much of our time being wrong then to ask someone to make it right for us. When needing Laval storage, we do not really want to ask all the questions necessary to make everything run smoothly. Most times the managers at the facility will field the basic questions such as how much is the unit, where are you located, and are there any hidden fees associated with renting. Otherwise the manager has to try to pry out of the customer the other questions essential to their move such as, how the customer is getting the belongings to the facility, how long will the need storage, are their belongings covered with some form of insurance, and many other questions. The customer sometimes does not know what to ask. Even when they do, they feel that they do not need to ask, when in fact asking many questions could save them time and their hard worked for money.
Sometimes it seems as though the Laval storage managers are psychic because they know the customer has more questions, but they do not want to come off as asking dumb questions. The manager will let them know that there no such things as dumb questions. In fact the dumbest questions are the questions that are not asked.
The easier the move into a Laval storage facility for you the better it is on your stress levels. So to help you and also help the manager at the facility to get you taken care of completely, ask any question that come to mind. The more you ask before you sign the lease the better. When you sign the lease and get moved in, it could take more of your time to get everything back out and make you even more upset and stressed out. Do not hesitate to ask the Laval storage managers questions. That is what they are there for.
