Tips For Using Edmonton Storage Units
-
Being a world class city, it is but natural that Edmonton self storage prices meet international standards of excellence. And with the city becoming increasingly active in terms of business, education and cultural activities, it has started attracting a large and diverse international population as well. With the migration of families, students and a multitude of other professionals and industrialists, it is no surprise that the demand for warehousing facilities is steadily increasing. This has led to a jump in the rates for Edmonton storage units which makes it all the more necessary to be completely sure of the dimensions of the store unit you need. Anything in excess or less than what you require will be more an inconvenience than a matter of a few dollars here or there. Which is why your calculations need to be as near accurate as possible.
Here are a few useful guidelines while you select your rental units. You will need to however have a rough idea of what exactly you need to store and then convert this into the number of rooms or the number of boxes.
- The smallest size storing unit you will usually get is the 5 x 5 one. This is roughly the size of a small closet and will hold between fifteen to twenty boxes. It is ideal for personal belongings of a single individual.
- The next size is 5 x 10, which is close to the space within a large walk in closet. This again will be able to contain personal belongings and a few pieces of furniture.
- The 10 x 10 self storage prices hold the items of roughly an average one bedroom apartment. But you need to remember that the amount of furniture you might consider average is highly subjective. In this case it stands for moderately furnished.
- A 10 x 15 unit holds the items of a two-bedroom apartment. You could also say that it will hold the contents of a medium sized office and some amount of supplies.
- A 10 x 20 unit is approximately the size of a standard garage and can hold the contents of a small three to four bedroom house. It would also be able to hold a single vehicle or a medium sized yacht.
- A few facilities do have units that equal 10 x 25 or are larger. These can easily hold the contents of a large four bedroom house. And it can also be used for storing manufacturing equipment, supplies and even a large RV. But the larger the size of the unit you need, the more difficult it will be for you to find an available one. These are mostly on lease for long periods of time apart from being very expensive.
- While most units have a height of around eight feet, this might be lower for spaces reserved for cars. Therefore when selecting a unit, make sure that it is designed specifically for your requirements. This will ensure that you can fully utilize the height of the unit along with the floor space.
- Sometimes when warehouses are not available in the size that you need them, ask whether it is possible to join two units together. But it is important to consider the price and the convenience you get out of doing this. If you are losing out on any of these, then it would be preferable for you to split up your possessions to fit the space you have available.
While these are meant to be rough guidelines, it is important to remember that not all Edmonton storage units are identical. And while it is critical for the price to be just right, convenience and accessibility should also be carefully considered.
